What is Holi?
 Holi is a Hindu festival held in the spring celebrated
mostly in India.
 It’s a time when people remember when good
triumphed over evil.
The Story of Holi
 A very long time ago there lived an evil Demon King,
who ruled the world. He was cruel and tortured people.

• The Demon King was so evil


that when he found out that his
son, Prahlad, worshiped a special
god called Vishnu, he decided to
KILL his son!
How do Hindus celebrate Holi?
 They celebrate with baskets of
flowers, building and lighting
bonfires, burning last year’s
rubbish and dancing!
When is Holi Celebrated?
 The day after the full moon in March each year. The festival
takes place a day earlier in West Bengal and Odisha. In addition,
in some parts of India festivites commence a week or so earlier.
Traditional food
 Delicious sweet dishes eaten during this festival. People prepares
this sweet dish to celebrate Holi. People prepare them in their
homes and sit and eat together.

Gujjia
 At the end of the day, after having fun with coloring people all
around the town. In the evening the will dress up nicely then visit
their friends and family . It is a national holiday in India.
 We should celebrate Holi in a decent way. We must
realize that it is a festival of joy and friendship. We
should share our joy with others. We must not behave
badly. The real spirit of the festival should be maintained.
