INTRODUCTION:

 Export marketing is a systematic process of developing and distributing goods and services in
overseas markets. Exporting market means exporting goods to other country of the world as per
the procedure framed by the exporting country as well as by the importing country.
 India is known as the home of spices. Indian spices are the most sought-after globally, given their
exquisite aroma, texture and taste. India has the largest domestic market for spices in the world.
India is the world's largest producer and exporter of spices of the 109 varieties listed by the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO), as the country produces and exports about
75 varieties of spices.
 It is a fact that Indians love spicy food and of course, spices. So, it does not come as a surprise
that India is one of the largest producers of spices in the world. In fact, India is the world’s largest
producer of cumin, chilli, ginger, and turmeric.
 And it is the second largest producer of pepper in the world. Studies show that India produces
approximately 3 million tonnes of spices on an annual basis, which are worth around 186 billion
(US$ 3 billion).

 To analyze the 7p’s of spices, exported from India,


 To identify the top importers of spices from India,
 To understand the trends of world market,
 To determine the economic level of nations, exporting and importing spices.
SPICES INDUSTRY:

 The Spices Board of India works towards the development and worldwide promotion of Indian
spices. It provides quality control and certification, registers exporters, documents trade
information and provides inputs to the Central Government on policy matters. It participates in
major international fairs and food exhibitions to promote Indian spices, apart from organizing
various domestic events.
 India’s spice manufacturers exported 8,93,920 tones of spices and spice products during 2014-15,
valued at US$2,432.85 million.
 Among all the states in India, Kerala tops the chart when it comes to the production of spices
because the state produces close to 96% of pepper, 53% of cardamom, and 25% of ginger in the
country. Tamil Nadu leads the country in the production of cardamom and turmeric, with 49% and
57% respectively.

PRODUCT VARIETIES:

 Indian spices include a variety of spices grown across the Indian continent With different climates in different
parts of the country, India produces a variety of spices, many of which are native to the subcontinent, while
others were imported from similar climates and have since been cultivated locally for centuries.
 Cardamom is used for digestion problems including heartburn, intestinal spasms, irritable bowel syndrome
(IBS), diarrhea, constipation, liver and gallbladder complaints, and loss of appetite. It is also used for common
cold and other infections, cough, bronchitis, sore mouth and throat, urinary problems and high blood pressure.
Cardamom contains chemicals that might treat intestinal spasms, kill some bacteria, reduce swelling and help
immune system.
 Turmeric is a spice that comes from the turmeric plant. It is commonly used in Asian food. You probably
know turmeric as the main spice in curry. It has a warm, bitter taste and is frequently used to flavor or
color curry powders, mustards, butters, and cheeses. But the root of turmeric is also used widely to make
medicine. It contains a yellow-colored chemical called cur cumin, which is often used to color foods and
cosmetics.

 China being a multinational country has a population composed of large number of ethnic and linguistic groups. China the most
populous country has a huge demand of spices and India being the leading producer of spices, serves the purpose. China has
imported around 16252.63MT of spices valuing around Rs.1301.65 Crores from India.
