    1. The movement of substances across the plasma membrane occurs in a continuous
    and controlled manner for the survival of a cell.
    2. Functions of plasma membrane/cell :
    i) Gatekeeper – Regulates what enters and leaves cell
    ii) Barrier between the contents of cells and the external environment.

    PLANT WILTING
    - Caused by excessive use of fertiliser.
    The soil water become hypertonic
    - Shortage of water.
    In herbaceous plant, turgidity is important.
    FOOD PRESERVATION
    Use either SALT, SUGAR or VINEGAR .
    To create concentrated solution.
    Without water bacteria cannot grow.
    Vinegar lower the pH value.
