Notation of Pitch

 Musical notation is written on five horizontal lines with four


equal spaces called a staff
G clef
 Also known as “treble clef” locates the tone G by circling the “G line”
F clef
 Also known as “Base Clef” located on the 4th line of staff
Short lines
 Also called as “Leger lines” are used to indicate pitches which lie
below or above the range of the staff
The pitch distance between any note and the next note of the same
letter, either to the left or right on keyboard, are called an octave
Notation of duration (Note Value)
 It indicates the duration of the notes
