What I Need to Know
Introduction
By understanding similarities and differences between two things, one can
increase his or her understanding and learn more about both. This usually involves
a process of analysis; in which we compare the specific parts as well as the whole.
Comparison may also be a preliminary stage of evaluation. For example, by
comparing specific aspects of A and B, we can decide which is more useful or
valuable. Paragraphs which aim to compare or contrast will begin with an
introductory sentence expressed in general terms.
In this lesson, you will also learn and view different multimodal texts
presented in a single or similar theme. In viewing these multimodal texts, you will
be able to see their similarities and differences. Through this, you need to apply the
linking expressions and signal words in comparing and contrasting ideas.
Happy learning!

This time, you will be focusing your attention in identifying and
understanding similarities and differences of things and recognizing how important
this ability is in giving a fair judgment. Through this, you will be enhancing your
skill in looking at things deeply as you compare and contrast things, subjects,

signals in the previous lesson, it is also important to exercise your ability to use
