- contains a wide range of articles which appear on different
occasions, also has an editorial where editors of the newspaper
share their views and opinions and a page where classified ads,
job openings, and other announcements are put.

1) Broadsheet- formal news and in-depth analysis of issues

2) Tabloid- condensed news and entertainment articles that uses


informmal language.
Magazines
- a periodical publicaiton that is also released weekly, monthly, or
quarterly.
- contains articles on various topics depending on subject or area the
magazine covers.

Journals
- similar to a newspaper, it contains informative articles and provide
accurate reports on specific topics, such as medicine.
-can be compared to a magazine as it targets a particular type of
audience.
Newsletter
- a bulletin issued periodically to the members of an organization, or
company and informs its readers about the updates or happenings in
their institution or community.

Gazzete
- official publication of a government organization which is intended
for public notices or listing of appointments.

Pamphlet
- contains a detailed yet easy to understand text with images.
-released by an organization or company to inform the public
regarding special topics or issues
Leaflet and flyer
- a printed sheet of paper which contains information about a
product for advertising purposes.

Brochure
- a small book or magazine that contains pictures and
information about the products or services offered by a
company.

Radio- radio announcers or DJ's deliver news or play music through
airwaves. Data is transmitted through frequencies between 3000
hertz to 300 gighertz.

Television- one of the most visible appliances at home, The TV can


receive and project images and sounds by a wire or through space.

Film- also called movies or motion pictures is similar to TV shows in


that it offers a variety of themes and genres.

- web pages contain information about a person or an organization,
some web pages require the user to sign up first before getting access
to the page.

Hypertext
- is a list of information that can be displayed and accessed directly by
users.

Instant messaging
- a user can interact with another user thorugh online chat in real time.
E-mail
- through e-mail a user can send information to other people in any
part of the world. The information can be encoded on the messsage
area or attached as a document.

Distance education
- with distance education students can now study in any part of the
world.

E-book
- refers to a digital version of a printed book, which can be accessed
with the use of a computer or a gadget.
Online shopping
- allows consumers to to shop at convinience while at home and
charge the items to their credit cards.

Media convergence
- it interconnects information with communication technologies,
computer networks, and media content.
