PREPAIRING LOOSE OR

BROKEN CHAIR PARTS


Repairing chair leg does not
require special tools.
In fact it requires attentions to
detail and patience as the
repairing process
Should be accurate in order to
avoid the breakage again.
MATERIALS/TOOLS
- Sand paper
- Wood glue
- Nails
- Hammer
- Cloth
- Clamp
- Varnish
- Brush
PROCEDURE:

Most loose or cracked legs can be repaired and put together following a few
simple steps:

1. Clean the cracked part, takiing out splints and sanding the part of wood.
2. Apply wood glue to damage part.
3. Clamp the leg so the glued parts do not get cracked from position until
the glue dries completely.
4. If the leg was detached from the socket, sand off the old glue and dust it
off completely.
5. Apply a fresh coat of glue to inside of the socket and then position the leg
inside it.
6. Use cloth to wipe off the excess glue.
7. Use the clamp to secure the leg in position.
8. Allow the glue to dry off completely.
9. Once the glue is completely dried, test the reattachment by trying to turn
the leg.
10. Refinish the chair with a fresh coat of varnish if necessary.
