INTRODUCTION

E commerce is known as
Electronic Commerce.It is a
type ofindustry where buying
and selling product or
service is conducted over
electronic systems such as
the internet and other
computer.
DEFINITION

E commerce is about business


electrically and encompasses
many diverse activities both in
the business to business market
and in the business to consumer
market .Activities includes
electronic trading of goods and
services,online delivery of digital
content,electronic fund
transfer,electronic shares trading
etc.
HISTORY OF E-COMMERCE
Late 1970's and early 1980's electronic data interchange
(EDI) for e commerce to transmit data from one business to
another within companies.
1990 Tim Berners writes the first web browser using next
computer.
1994 Pizza Hut offers pizza ordering on its web site.
1995 Jeff Bezons launches AMAZON.COM
1998 Electronic postel stemps can be purchased from the
web.
2008 E commerce sales projected to reach 5204 billions an
increase of 17 percent over 2007.

DISADVANTAGES OF E-COMMERCE

Unable to examine products


personally.
Not every one is connected
to the internet.
This is the possibility of
credit card theft.
Mechanical failures can
cause unpredictable effects
on the total processes.
