Learning/ Thinking Styles
• Refers to the preferred way an individual process
information.
• Describe a person’s typical mode of thinking,
remembering or problem solving.
• Denotes tendency to behave in a certain manner.
Sensory Preferences
• Sensory preferences refer to the physical, perceptual learning
channels with which the student is the most comfortable.
• Individuals tend to gravitate toward one or two types of
sensory input and maintain a dominance in one of the
following types:
1. Visual
2. Auditory
3. Reading and Writing
4. Kinesthetic (movement oriented) and Tactile (touch oriented)
 Prefer to learn by
seeing.

E.g. Diagrams,
illustrated text books,

transparencies, videos,
