 DATA REQUIRED FOR UPDATING
 STEPS IN THE PROCESS OF UPDATING
Based on the progress of the work and the
revised duration of unfinished activities due to
delays, the network diagram has to be redrawn
and this process is known as updating.
 During the process of implementing the plan
according the network we may come across
one or more of the following possibilities.
a) That sum or all the activities are progressing
to the schedule
b) That sum or all the activities are ahead of the
schedule.
c) That sum or all the activities are behind the
schedule.
 Following information is necessary to update
the plan at an intermediate stage of
execution of a project:
◦ Original network
◦ Original network calculation chart
◦ Stage at which updating is being done i.e., a point
in time of updating
◦ Execution position of the project at that stage and
◦ New information and knowledge which will affect
the duration time of the activities to be performed
