Plant Description
Urang aring is a wild plant that grows a lot in the
open, such as terrain, the edge of the gutter or
the edge of the road. This plant can flourish
both on the beach and mountain areas whose
altitude is 1,500 m above sea level.
PHARMACOLOGICAL EFFECTS
Urang aring has pharmacological effects as
antibacterial, antivenom, antiviral, anticancer,
antioxidant, antihepatotoxic, and treatment of
jaundice. Urang-aring root extract is used as an
emetic, laxative and also applied externally as an
antiseptic for ulcers and sores.

thiophene derivatives, which are 2- (blind-1,3-
diyl) -5- (but-3-en-1-inyl) thiophene and 2-
(blind-1, 3-diyl) -5- (4- chloro-3-hydroxybuty-
1-inyl) thiophene, 5- (3-buten-1-inyl) -2.2'-
