Formulation ZARAH KRISTINE A. FLORES Teacher I Stages of a Project Formulation 1. Pre-Study Stage The period when the project to be undertaken is chosen. A project may be chosen to: a. Random Conception – the project idea may come by accident or through some casual suggestion from another person. b. Systematic Approach – the project may be selected by felt need or it may be the result of deliberation on how to enrich the curriculum in order to satisfy the needs of the students of the community. 2. Project Stage Study This stage is where all the data relevant to the project such as personnel involved, Project Implementing Office, objectives, curriculum adjustments, organizations, management, financing, etc. are gathered analyzed and presented for consideration to proper authorities. 3. Implementation Stage This is the actual carrying out of the project. 4. Evaluation Stage This is a stage which certain checklists, questionnaire, and other evaluative materials are used to measure the operation of the project in relation to the objectives set. Regionalization A plan for the country will have each program and project applying nationwide. For purposes of implementation, the plan as a whole, cut up into program or project will be shared with the administrative region. Management Aids to Project Formulation 1. Bar Chart - Shows start and end of each project 2. Flow Chart – using internationally recognized symbols indicates the flow of work of a project from start to finish. 3. Organizational Chart – represents the division of work, nature, relationships, and extent of lines of authority and accountability within the organizational structure designed for the project 4. Multiple Activity Chart – form of more dynamic than the organizational chart, showing distribution of work, nature and extent of delegation, and key points of responsibility. Also known as column chart, it is a chart in which data is visually represented by vertical or horizontal bars. It is used to show comparisons between values, with a bar representing each separate value Flowcharts are better way of communicating the logic of a system to all concerned or involved. Effective analysis, with the help of flowchart problem can be analyzed in more effective way therefore reducing cost and wastage of time Organizational chart is a good tool to chart the organization structure. Fundamentally, organization of information which is more effective than pure text. 5 Chart is a Multiple Activity form of process chart recording the related sequence of work of a number of operators and/or machines on common time scale.
