INTRODUCTION

Famous works done by different architect needs to be


documented and displayed to people for them to
understand the buildings surrounding them. This
project consists of displays of works of architect from
different era. It will also deal preservation or
architectural drawings of famous buildings. It will also
act as an educational center for aspiring architects by
means of spaces designed for lectures and
competition to be held.

Aim

The purpose of the museum is to showcase the work


of important national and international architects
and to create a timeline for visitor of how buildings
around them have evolved from the past and give
them a better understanding of how it can be further
developed.
NEED OF THE STUDY

In India people are unaware that how important architect’s


contribution is in developing the society. For better
understanding of buildings around us it is important to
design a space where multiple architects work is preserved,
researched and exhibited on permanent basis thus providing
the need to facilitate such a museum of architecture where
students, architects and common people can understand,
study and analyze the works and the relics for a better
understanding of their built environment.

Exhibition of works of different architects can serve as a


time capsule of human history and human thought.
Architecture is a powerful reflection of human culture and
therefore needs to be exhibited to strengthen the
connection between people and their built environment. It is
essential to display how architecture responds to society’s
functional needs while making use of modern technology in
building design.

The global population is not only growing but also urbanizing


at a rapid rate. As this trend accelerates, the role of
architecture in designing sustainable space will become
critical.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

1. To showcase different architects work at one place.


2. Promotion of better architecture and built environment.
3. Helping everyone understand and appreciate the potential of
architecture and design.
4. Encouraging public engagement and demand for excellence in
art, design and architecture .
5. To create a knowledge hub for aspiring architects.
6. Preserving architectural drawings and models of famous
architects
7. To educate architecture students about various types of
structures.
8. To design a space which can serve as a center where aspiring
architects can get better knowledge of their subject and can
understand its importance.

SCOPE

The purpose of the museum is to showcase the work of


important national and international architects and to create a

from the past and give them a better understanding of how it

SITE DETAIL :

Location-

The site is located near agra fort. The site has a scenic view of
agra fort. Taj gardens are also located near the site.

Approach- The site can be reached by agra bah marg. Public


vehicles like bus and auto rickshaw are available to reach to
the site.

Site Area- 32430.19 sqm (8.01 acre)


Site surroundings-

The site is surrounded by military housing area to the south


west side, agra fort toward north. The site gives beautiful
view of taj gardens in the front.

Reasons for selecting this site-

This site is selected because of its close proximity to the


agra fort and its location in the main city of agra. The site is
well connected to other monuments like taj mahal, taj
garden, mehtab bagh etc.. the site is also near to Yamuna
river.

INTRODUCTION

A cultural center or cultural centre is an organization, building


or complex that promotes culture and arts. Culturalcenters can
be neighborhood community arts organizations, private
facilities, government-sponsored.

An interpretation centre, or interpretive centre, is aninstitution


for dissemination of knowledge of natural or cultural heritage;
these are located in connection to cultural, historic or
natural sites.

Heritage is the best expression of the cultural identity of the


community, of its civilization personality. It’s one of the aspects
of the creativity that a community has in store, where it
originates in individual or ingroups.

Todevelop a design solution of the project of cultural centre,New

• Toidentify the various cultural needs of the city in order to


address them with quality services in thebest possible manner.

• Tounderstand the changing modes of the esthetics, in relation


to the cultural observance or practice, which can act as an
important tool for the cultural & heritage education for the
community.

• The image of the city will be transformed with the layers of


cultural & the religious diversity added to the fabric of the city.

• Todevelop a effective spaces in the centre, so that people can


easily relate themselves to the city & its culture.

• It would be a centre which would act as a venue forrecreational,


educational, and functional.

• The project will help in preserving the rich cultural heritage.

• The project will be the combination of the art, architecture and


the communal heritage.

• Todevelop the facilities & the amenities at the centre, so that


the people can be served in most functional & aesthetical way
& also to create a perfect mood for the visitors, which could
help them in relating their soul with the city.

INTRODUCTION TO INSTITUTIONS

● An educational institution is a place where people of


different ages gain an education. Examples of some institutions
are preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and further
and higher education. They provide a large variety of learning
environments and spaces.

● Institutions play a profound role in giving direction to the


process of learning. From 1st to last year, the most
impressionable years in the lives of youth are spent in campus
environment. An institution building is in reality a
manifestation of values and attitude.

AIM

To analyze and incorporate the quality and interrelationship of


spaces into design of architecture school.
OBJECTIVES

● To understand spaces through case studies and data analysis.

● To carefully design spaces so as to bring about interaction


among the students and teachers and make the building an
ideal place for education.

● The design should have no feeling of restriction for the


exchange of ideas and the faculty and the students should have
freedom to teach and learn anywhere apart from classrooms.

● To establish an attitude of lifelong learning to prepare


professionals with ethical standards based on genuine concern
for improving the quality of life for individual and society.

NEED OF ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL

● Since there are very few architecture colleges in New Delhi there
is a need of an architecture college in the capital as it is the heart
of the country and hub of education.
REASON FOR SELECTION

● In an architecture school where a student spends 5 most valuable


years of his life studying has a direct influence on his career.

● There is a need to design a school with ethical standards based on


genuine concern for improving the quality of life of individuals and
society and where the students can discover,
integrate, articulate and apply knowledge.

● Thus the purpose is to have an architecture school with full


proper facilities and educational system and to be equal with an
architecture college's standard.

SITE SELECTION

● The site is located at vasant kunj, institutional area, New Delhi.

● The site is already proposed for the new campus of school of


planning and architecture. Site is located in the Vasant Kunj
Institutional area hence providing integrated, inter- related and
holistic campus.

● The Vasant Kunj community is considered to be well educated and


prosperous.

● Site is located in 4 Block B, I.P. Estate, Vasant Kunj,


New Delhi near The Grand Hotel.
