CENTER FOR KERALA
TRADITIONAL
ARTFORMS

Aim :
The aim of the project is to design a cultural art centre, with traditional artforms.

Objective:
• The thesis proposes to build a cultural centre a place for Kerala traditional artforms.

• To create a campus area with staying facilities for both students and faculties.

• The area also be oriented as entertainment destination with overall experience to the locals
and the tourists alike.

Scope:
• The scope of this art and cultural center is to act as to encourage Kerala traditional
artforms.
• The opportunities to learn, follow and adopt our culture will boost our cultural value
worldwide.
Site:
Willingdon island, Ernakulam district,
Kerala.

Ownership :
The site is under the ownership of
cochin port trust.

Context:
Kerala folklore museum – 1.7 km
Airport – 36 km
Railway station – 7 km
Terminal cruise –7.2 km
Hospital – 6.7km
Feasiblility:
• Fronted with NH 966B
(Kochi- Panvel highway).
• Very close to Ernakulam city.
• The site is located in between mainland,
Fortkochi and Ernakulam, which will experience
same amount of equal flow of people from
either side.
• The site is located from the cruise terminal at
cochin.
• The 3 face fully edged water frontage and major
waterway connections can promote backwater
tourism from the site.

TRANQUILITY
WELLNESS CENTER

Aim:

• To establish a relationship between healing, senses and architecture.


• To design a centre for tranquillity within a space and built environment which provokes mental
and physical healing.
• To understand the various elements of healing, by incorporating then into the built form.

Objectives:

• To provide a centre for wellness within spaces and Ayurveda.


• To explore sensory architecture in built form.

Scope:

• To promote healing and therapy with creating good mental and physical helath.
• Through its extensive ranges of wellness programs, the Centre gives ample opportunities to
the Clients to live a healthy life
Site:
Cheranallur, Ernakulam, kerala.
• Feasibility
Three major national
highways passing
through Ernakulam
District are the
Cochin- Mumbai
highway (NH 17),
Salem-
Kanyakumari(NH 47)
and Cochin-
Dhanushkodi
highway (NH 49).
• Site is within the city
but at the same time
isolated from the city
giving it a calm and
