z • The building is easily approachable and is
located on the main road.
• Directional signage is provided to guide the
visitors, which is a good practice.
• There are proper separate lanes for the different
types of vehicles and is sign posted.
• There is no tactile orientation for visually
impaired users.
• Private shared autos have been randomly
parked that hinders the entrance.

Parking
• There is a dedicated parking space available for
people with disabilities next to the drop-off area,
which is a good practice.
• The parking signage is available.
• There are no shelter parking.
• The disabled parking bay is not marked.
• The size of the parking bay is 2870mm X 3000mm.
• There is a separate parking available for visitors
and staff which is sign posted.
Entrance

• Entrance to the building has a covered
alighting point.
• The entrance is sign posted.
• The ramp available for wheelchair user.
• There is no tactile markings to benefit the
visually impaired users.

Reception/ Ticket Counter


• No separate counter has been provided for physically handicapped users.
• There is a signboard in Hindi in handwritten format indicating the train
schedule.
• The sign board is also present in electronic medium.
• There is no directional signage at the reception area.
• The passage to the counter is 900mm wide with handrails on both
sides at 900mm height.
• The counter height is 1100mm, which is inaccessible for wheelchair users.
• There is no tactile marking till the ticket counter to guide the visually
impaired visitors.
• No signage is Braille enabled to guide the visually impaired visitors.
• No seats have been provided in the reception area, people sits on the
floor.
z Corridors/ Platform

• The corridors are 2400mm wide, enough to


provide wheelchair manoeuvring facility.
• There is proper seating facility provided in the
corridor at proper distances.
• There is no protruding objects or barriers
in the corridor, which is a good practice.
• The floor surface is slip resistant and non-
reflective.
• There is no colour contrast between the
floor, wall, doors and the ceiling.
• The corridors are signposted to guide
towards the different areas.
• There are no guide rails in the corridor to
support the people with visual impairment.
• There is no tactile warning strips to guide the
visually impaired users.
• The corridors connect the platform via both
ramp and steps.

Doors & Room

• The door width is 1000mm which is


accessible for wheel chair users to enter
the room.
• The handle height is 1100mm.
• The vision panel is at a height of 1550mm.
• All the rooms are sign posted.
• There is no proper tactile guidance till the
rooms.
• The switch height inside the room is
1270mm which is not accessible as
required height is 800mm- 1050mm.
• The seat is at a height of 480mm inside the
room.
Staircase
z • There is a flight 12 steps on the staircase.
• Handrail exists on both the sides and continue on
landing.
• The handrails height is 1100mm.
• The handrail ends 300mm after the first and the last
step, which is a good practice.
• There is no edge marking on the tread for the
benefit of visually impaired visitors.
• There are no tactile warning blocks to guide the
visitors with visual impairments.
• Signage indicating staircase is not present.
• The floor surface is non-slippery and non-
reflective which is a good practice.
• The under-stair area has not been cordoned off.
• The illumination on the staircase area is good during

Drinking Water
z • Drinking water facility is located inside the
building.
• Drinking water tap height is 1000mm which
inaccessible.
• The facility is sign-posted. However, there is a
directional signage present till the drinking
water facility.
• There is no tactile guiding path till the drinking
water facility.

Emergency Evacuation
• Currently, the entrance is treated as the fire exit to the building.
• There are no emergency exit signages and no signages
indicating the emergency exit for those with disabilities or have
mobility problems.
• There are no refuge areas earmarked for persons with disabilities.
In fact, there is no declared evacuation plan for disabled
people.
• The escape route is not clear.
