INTRODUCTION
The basic necessities of mankind include:

***but it is not enough that we have these basic
needs if we are living in FEAR and the
UNCERTAINTY of DANGER everyday.
SAFETY – one rising necessity that we need to
focus today.

What is an injury?
What are the two classifications of injury?
What are the different types of intentional
injuries?
Classify them: Intentional or Unintentional

GROUP 1 : SUICIDE & PARASUICIDE
GROUP 2 : DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
GROUP 3 : BULLYING, STALKING & EXTORTION
GROUP 4 : GANG & YOUTH VIOLENCE, ILLEGAL
FRATERNITY-RELATED VIOLENCE,
KIDNAPPING & ABDUCTION, & ACTS OF
TERROR
GROUP 5 : VERBAL & SEXUAL ABUSE ( INCEST,
MOLESTATION AND RAPE )

How will you recognize this kind of injury? What
are the indicators?
What are its effects on the victims?
INTENTIONAL INJURIES = are injuries
resulting from violence.

2 TYPES:

1. SELF-INFLICTED – when a person harms


himself/herself on purpose
2. ASSAULT - when person/persons harm
another on purpose.

4 CLASSIFICATIONS (ASSAULT)
Those that were committed within the family
Those that were committed by peers
Those that were committed by other groups
Those that were committed by the family,
peers or other groups
WITHIN THE FAMILY
Domestic violence may happen
When one or more members of the family
harms or abuses another family member
PEERS IN SCHOOL OR IN THE
COMMUNITY
May commit bullying, stalking and
extortion
OTHER GROUPS
May commit gang and youth violence,
illegal fraternity-related violence,
kidnapping and abduction and different acts
of terror.
Sexual victimization and other forms of
abuse and harassment may be committed
by the family, peers or other family
This includes verbal abuse, incest,
molestation or rape
