-Electricity is a form of energy

generated by friction ,induction or

chemical change, having
magnetic ,chemical and radiant
effect.
-In short , electricity is electrons in
motion.
 Benjamin Franklin
 Most people give credit to Benjamin
Franklin for discovering electricity.
Benjamin Franklin had one of the
greatest scientific minds of his time. He
was interested in many areas of science,
made many discoveries, and invented
many things, including bifocal glasses. In
the mid-1700s, he became interested in
electricity.
Electricity is a property of
the basic particles of
matter which like an atom,
consist of:
 A) Electron-negative(-)charge
(weightless)
 B) Proton-positive (+) charge (heavy)
 C) Neutron- Neutral (like proton and
electron bonded together)
 1.Direct Current
 2.Alternating Current
ALTERNATING CURRENT (AC)
-a current or voltage that
changes strength according
to a sine curve.
-it reverses its polarity on
each alternation and
reverses its direction of flow
for each alternation
DIRECT CURRENT
(DC)
-flows in one direction.
The flow is said to be
from negative to
positive.
 GEORGE SIMON OHM,a German
Scientist,who discovered the relationship
between the Current,Voltage and
Resistance.
 -states that “The higher the voltage, the larger
the current, and the higher the resistance, the
lower the current”

 Formula:

I=V
R
 I = Current flow (amperes)
 V= Electromotive force (volts)
 R= Resistance (ohms)

To Find the:
*Volts V=IR
*Ampere I=V
R
*Resistance/ohms R=V

 PARALLEL CONNECTION
 SERIES CONNECTION
 PARALLEL CONNECTION
is the connection in which there are
several paths through which current flows
in a circuit. In a parallel connection, the
loads will have the same voltage but
different current flowing in it.
 SERIES CONNECTION
in which the current is the same through
each component in the circuit regardless
of what components are used or their
values
Electric Conductors
-are substances or
materials used to convey or
allow the flow of electric
current.
-Silver -Zinc
