her husband, Nick

Winston.
Before Mrs. Hillier began
teaching she worked in
babysitting, worked as an
employee at a surf shop, and
also had experience in the
restaurant business.
Mrs. Hillier
graduated from
Frank W. Cox
High School and
went to study at
Longwood
University, she
graduated from
Longwood with a
bachelors of
science

Mrs. Hillier is a teacher at
Linkhorn Park Elementary
School, she has been
teaching here for less than
two years. This is her first
school she has taught at in
her teaching career.
Mrs. Hillier’s favorite
part of teaching is
being able to get to
know the students and
form relationships. Her
least favorite part of
teaching is that she has
paperwork and attend
meetings.
Mrs. Hillier’s philosophy of teaching is focused on being student centered in
the classroom. She believes and gives her students lots of choices in
instructional time, letting the students have a say. She is a big believer in
forming relationships with her former students, and continuing with past
students.
