What is tempo?
- In music, this refers to the rate of speed
in a composition. It may be fast or slow.
- One particular tempo may create
excitement. A joyful musical piece for
example, should be played in a fast and
lively tempo, while a sad, depressed
piece, with slow tempo.
The most common used tempo markings
or symbols.
1. Andante- moderately slow.
2. Andantino- moderately
slow but flowing tempo
3. Adagio- slow, or in easy
graceful tempo
4. Lento- slow
5. Largo- very slow, broad
6. Allegro- fast, a lively, brisk,
and after tempo.
7. Allegretto- quicker than
andantino.
8. Moderato- moderate
9. Vivace-quick, lively
10. Presto- a very fast tempo
