RUINS
Fruit of Obedience
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
1If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully
follow all his commands I give you today, the
LORD your God will set you high above all the
nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come
on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD
your God

Fruit of Disobedience
Deuteronomy 28:15
15 However, if you do not obey the LORD your God
and do not carefully follow all his commands and
decrees I am giving you today, all these curses
will come on you and overtake you
The first step towards
restoration is the
realization of the
degraded (ruined) state
and secondly, taking
ownership of one’s own
responsibility that lead to
the degradation (ruin).
REBUILDING – Rising out of the ruins

The Bible teaches us to be people of

action.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and

just and will forgive us our sins and purify
us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim
we have not sinned, we make him out to be
a liar and his word is not in us.
1 John 1:9-10
i. They repented for their degraded
condition – Nehemiah 9:1-2.
ii. They searched the scriptures to find out
what God wanted of them – Nehemiah
9:3.
iii. They confessed their sins – Nehemiah
9:3.
iv. Once they had set themselves free of
the sins that was weighing them down
they were able to Worship God –
Nehemiah 9:3.
v. They took action by rejecting sin and
sinful ways and aligning themselves to
the will of God – Nehemiah 10:30-39.
