Concrete
Abstract
They begin with physical objects.
and
direct
activities.
Soon, following will be words involving mental
experiences and relations (hungry, hurt, happy, want,
etc.), which then yield such utterances as ‘Mary hurt’,
John thirsty, and ‘Kitty want eat’.
How.??
How do
children learn
about physical
object?
By associating the
word with the
object.
So how about the abstract
words? Example: hungry
“That’s a lie!”
“I didn’t hit
her”
