● Cast Iron casings are not acceptable. Radial split (barrel) casings and
their end covers shall be forged steel if the design pressure exceeds 6900
kPa (69 Bar) or any molecular weight specified is less than 15
● Manufacturer shall provide drawings showing location of all welds
inaccessible for NDT, in particular stressed welds on hydrocarbon
containing components of the compressors.
MOC of Impeller
● It depends on which liquid is to be pumped. Sea water applications use
bronzze, brass.
● For hot water and cold water,temperature resistant steel can be used.
● For corrosive liquids stailess steel is used.
● For sewage and biologically active materials plastic impellers are used.
