UNDERSTANDING DISEASE AND ITS CURE

PRESENTED BY
BILDAD OYUGI
WHAT IS DISEASE?
• Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from
conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health.
• THE LAWS OF HEALTH INCLUDE:
1. Nutrition
2. Exercise
3. Water
4. Sunshine
5. Temperance
6. Air
7. Rest
8. Trust In God
NUTRITION
• Many people suffer from diseases that can be cured but despite
what treatment they chose, they just cant get rid of the
diseases. That is why diseases are “manageable” and not
“curable”.
• The question is, why are you sick in the first place?
• “As the billions of people in the developing world are
accumulating more wealth and adopting the Western diet and
lifestyle, problems created by nutritional excess are becoming
exponentially more urgent with each passing year.” The China
Study.
Nutrition
• There is no such thing as a special diet for cancer and a different,
equally special diet for heart disease. The evidence now amassed from
researchers around the world shows that the same diet that is good
for the prevention of cancer is also good for the prevention of heart
disease, as well as obesity, diabetes, cataracts, macular degeneration,
Alzheimer's, cognitive dysfunction, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis
and other diseases. Furthermore, this diet can only benefit everyone,
regardless of his or her genes or personal dispositions.
• All of these diseases, and others, spring forth from the same influence:
an unhealthy, largely toxic diet and lifestyle that has an excess of
sickness-promoting factors and a deficiency of health-promoting
factors. In other words, the Western diet. Conversely, there is one diet
to counteract all of these diseases: a whole foods, plant-based diet.
The China Study
Nutrition
• Our bodies are built up from the food we eat. There is a
constant breaking down of the tissues of the body; every
movement of every organ involves waste, and this waste is
repaired from our food. Each organ of the body requires its
share of nutrition. The brain must be supplied with its portion;
the bones, muscles, and nerves demand theirs. It is a wonderful
process that transforms the food into blood and uses this blood
to build up the varied parts of the body; but this process is going
on continually, supplying with life and strength each nerve,
muscle, and tissue. {Ministry of Healing 295.1}
Nutrition
• Those foods should be chosen that best supply the
elements needed for building up the body. In this choice,
appetite is not a safe guide. Through wrong habits of
eating, the appetite has become perverted. Often it
demands food that impairs health and causes weakness
instead of strength. We cannot safely be guided by the
customs of society. The disease and suffering that
everywhere prevail are largely due to popular errors in
regard to diet. {Ministry of Healing 295.2}
Nutrition
• Dangerous foods in this generation.
 Meat (red/white)
 Dairy products
Hormones Injected In Animals
• Among other evidence, the report points out that mice, rats,
and guinea pigs given the hormones developed polyps, fibroids,
and tumors and soon wasted away and perished. The physicians
concluded that the introduction of hormones into the food
supply presented the problem of cancer exposure in human
beings from birth onward.

Exercise
https://medlineplus.gov/benefitsofexercise.html

• Help you control your weight. Along with diet, exercise plays an important role
in controlling your weight and preventing obesity. To maintain your weight, the
calories you eat and drink must equal the energy you burn. To lose weight, you
must use more calories than you eat and drink.
• Reduce your risk of heart diseases. Exercise strengthens your heart and
improves your circulation. The increased blood flow raises the oxygen levels in
your body. This helps lower your risk of heart diseases such as high
cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and heart attack. Regular exercise can also
lower your blood pressure and triglyceride levels.
• Help your body manage blood sugar and insulin levels. Exercise can lower
your blood sugar level and help your insulin work better. This can cut down your
risk for metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. And if you already have one of
those diseases, exercise can help you to manage it.
Exercise
• Help you quit smoking. Exercise may make it easier to quit smoking by reducing
your cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It can also help limit the weight you
might gain when you stop smoking.
• Improve your mental health and mood. During exercise, your body releases
chemicals that can improve your mood and make you feel more relaxed. This can
help you deal with stress and reduce your risk of depression.
• Help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you
age. Exercise stimulates your body to release proteins and other chemicals that
improve the structure and function of your brain.
• Strengthen your bones and muscles. Regular exercise can help kids and teens
build strong bones. Later in life, it can also slow the loss of bone density that
comes with age. Doing muscle-strengthening activities can help you increase or
maintain your muscle mass and strength.
Exercise
• Reduce your risk of some cancers, including colon, breast , uterine,
and lung cancer.
• Reduce your risk of falls. For older adults, research shows that doing balance
and muscle-strengthening activities in addition to moderate-intensity aerobic
activity can help reduce your risk of falling.
• Improve your sleep. Exercise can help you to fall asleep faster and stay asleep
longer.
• Improve your sexual health. Regular exercise may lower the risk of erectile
dysfunction (ED) in men. For those who already have ED, exercise may help
improve their sexual function. In women, exercise may increase sexual arousal.
• Increase your chances of living longer. Studies show that physical activity can
reduce your risk of dying early from the leading causes of death, like heart
disease and some cancers.
Water
 Adult humans are 60 percent water,
and our blood is 90 percent water.
 There is no universally agreed
quantity of water that must be
consumed daily.
 Water is essential for the kidneys
and other bodily functions.
 When dehydrated, the skin can
become more vulnerable to skin
disorders and wrinkling.
 Drinking water instead of soda can
help with weight loss.

Water
 It lubricates the joints
• Cartilage, found in joints and the disks of the spine, contains around 80 percent water.
Long-term dehydration can reduce the joints' shock-absorbing ability, leading to joint pain.
 It forms saliva and mucus
• Saliva helps us digest our food and keeps the mouth, nose, and eyes moist. This prevents
friction and damage. Drinking water also keeps the mouth clean. Consumed instead of
sweetened beverages, it can also reduce tooth decay.
 It delivers oxygen throughout the body
• Blood is more than 90 percent water, and blood carries oxygen to different parts of the
body.
 It boosts skin health and beauty
• With dehydration, the skin can become more vulnerable to skin disorders and premature
wrinkling.
 It cushions the brain, spinal cord, and other sensitive tissues
• Dehydration can affect brain structure and function. It is also involved in the production of
hormones and neurotransmitters. Prolonged dehydration can lead to problems with thinking and
reasoning.
 It regulates body temperature
• Water that is stored in the middle layers of the skin comes to the skin's surface as sweat when the
body heats up. As it evaporates, it cools the body. In sport.
• Some scientists have suggested that when there is too little water in the body, heat storage
increases and the individual is less able to tolerate heat strain.
• Having a lot of water in the body may reduce physical strain if heat stress occurs during exercise.
However, more research is needed into these effects.
 The digestive system depends on it
• The bowel needs water to work properly. Dehydration can lead to digestive problems, constipation,
and an overly acidic stomach. This increases the risk of heartburn and stomach ulcers.
 It flushes body waste
• Water is needed in the processes of sweating and removal of urine and feces.
 It helps maintain blood pressure
• A lack of water can cause blood to become thicker, increasing blood pressure.
 The airways need it
• When dehydrated, airways are restricted by the body in an effort to minimize water
loss. This can make asthma and allergies worse.
 It makes minerals and nutrients accessible
• These dissolve in water, which makes it possible for them to reach different parts of
the body.
 It prevents kidney damage
• The kidneys regulate fluid in the body. Insufficient water can lead to kidney
stones and other problems.
 It boosts performance during exercise
• Share on PinterestDehydration during exercise may hinder performance.
• Some scientists have proposed that consuming more water might enhance
performance during strenuous activity.
• More research is needed to confirm this, but one review found that dehydration
reduces performance in activities lasting longer than 30 minutes.
 Weight loss
• Water may also help with weight loss, if it is consumed instead of sweetened juices
and sodas. "Preloading" with water before meals can help prevent overeating by
creating a sense of fullness.
 It reduces the chance of a hangover
• When partying, unsweetened soda water with ice and lemon alternated with
alcoholic drinks can help prevent overconsumption of alcohol.
