By: Gabrielle Lyka Quilao

According to Facilities Chairman Art Cabrera, the school implemented zero waste
countdown in order to maintain the cleanliness as the school’s main problem is the
collected garbage.
“Basura kasi ‘yung main problem ng ating school. Sobrang dami ng mga basura na
nakokolekta sa school pa lang natin. Nagstart ito this year, noong July 1,2018. We have 30
days to zero waste program of government. This is all for the good of everyone and the
environment,” he stated.

mayroon na tayong waste segregation at recycling na rin para maeliminate na
‘yung plastic wastes sa school,” he said.
However, some students disapproved the said program as the saw difficulty in
performing the guidelines.
“Mga pasaway o hindi sanay sa kalinisan ‘yung mga nagrereklamo sa mga batas
na inimplement. Nahihirapan daw sila,” Cabrera stressed.
Despite of the negative reactions, the chairman still continued his objectives as
the principal gave his full support to the said program.
Meanwhile, the zero waste management is in accordance to the environmental
policy under Philippine Constitution and the Waste Management Act of 2000.
