Activation of 61 QM BN

Purpose: Key Tasks:

To develop a synchronized “Way Ahead” for the 61st QM
BN activation to include establishing an HHC and
gaining Mission Command of the 418th and 53d QM
• Identify mission essential personnel and equipment
• Verify personnel manning solutions
• Identify equipment resourcing strategy
• Establish BN COF and motor pool footprints
• Confirm lineage and history

Facts Concerns
• HHC, 61st QM is comprised of 67 personnel • Personnel manning shortages
• BN activation is 16 OCT per activation order • Essential personnel transitions
• 13 ESC and 4SB will initially resource Soldier manning • BN CDR and BN CSM timelines
• HRC will begin mass manning on 15 July • HHC equipment resourcing
• 418th and 53d capability briefs being compiled • BN COF and Motor Pool footprints
• Installation support mission sets
Assumptions
• 1CD SB will fill all previously agreed upon personnel slots
• Will allocate temporary COF for 61 BN HQ’s o/a 13 July
• Will locate BN Motor pool in 418/53 existing motor pool
• Permanent BN COF will be the current STB COF

61st QM Activation Timeline

Key Considerations
• 1CD SB Re-deployers are on leave until early August
• Manning fills have changed from the 1CD SB
• Facility decisions are key to establishment 16 OCT: Act. Ceremony
• Additional duty training and certifications timelines may vary
• BN Cdr and CSM timelines are unknown
• Equipment shortages in HHC should not hinder install. Support
• Routine IPR’s will be added to battle rhythm
• No finite information on-hand for the equipment strategy 01 OCT: ESC personnel transfers

15 SEP: Occupy BN Area (Perm)

22 AUG: ESC Redeployment

10 AUG: Specialty training

03 AUG: 1CD SB personnel transfers

15 JUL: HRC begins filling Personnel

13 JUL: Establish BN Area (Temporary)

01 JUL: G4 researches property sourcing plan
