I The foundation stone of the University’s East Delhi
campus was laid down on the 14th of December and

Minister, Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani.

R Mrs. Irani laid the cornerstone for the 18.75 acre campus
of GGSIPU in the Surajmal Vihar area of the East Delhi
O region. The Rs. 285 Crore campus will be equipped with
modern facilities including solar power panels and geo-

D thermal cooling systems, which will reflect the urbanized


and modern outlook of the university management

along with their awareness towards the ecological

Designed on modern and environment-friendly lines, the campus will be equipped with rain water harvesting and an in-house sewage treatment plant and
will have zero sewage output. Every building of the campus will also have enough solar panels installed to ensure that the solar power generation
compensates for all of the power consumption - zero net power consumption.
