tabletop. Supporting
sentences show the reader
why the topic sentence is
true.

nervous. She is at a hair salon. A
man is cutting her hair. She is sitting,
and she has a towel around her
shoulders. The man is standing in
back of her. He is holding her hair
with one hand. He has a pair of
scissors in his other hand. He is
saying something. She is trying to
smile. She is wondering, “What is he
doing? Am I making a mistake?”.
