Football is a team sport between two teams of 11
players each. At the beginning of the 21st century,
over 250 million players were played in over 200
countries, making it the most popular sport in the
world.

It is played with a sphere ball on a rectangular

ground, covered with grass, with a gate at each
end. The goal of the game is to score goals by
placing the ball in the opponent's goal. Outside the
goalkeeper, the other players can not use their
hands to handle the ball. The winner of the match is
the team that scored more goals at the end of the
game.
The origins of football are
somewhere over 2000
years ago. In 2004, the
governing body of this
global sport FIFA
(Fédération Internationale
de Football Association)
[5] recognized China as
the birthplace of football.
Around 200 BC the
Chinese played a similar
sport called cuju. The
rules have evolved over
time, thus reaching the
sport practiced today.
In the spring of 2001, FIFA informed that over
240 million people regularly play football in
over 200 countries around the globe. Its
simple rules and low and inexpensive
equipment needed to practice football have
undoubtedly contributed to its popularity. In
many areas of the world football generates
enormous passions and plays a very
important role in the lives of fans, local
communities and even nations; is often
called the most popular sport in the world. It
is recognized in many countries as: the sport
of the king.
These positions are not restricted by rules, and
footballers are free to change their positions during
the game. This also applies to goalkeepers who,
although in most of their time around their own
gates, can always participate in the offensive game
of the team. The most common cases are in free
kicks or corners.

The layout of players on the pitch is called a

tactical set-up. Examples of tactical settlements: 4-
4-2 (4 fighters, 4 midfielders, 2 attackers); 4-5-1, 4-3-
3

The establishment of the technical-tactical layout of

the team is under the co-ordination of the coach.

Fútbol Club Barcelona, in short Barcelona or Barça, is a
football club in Barcelona, Spain, which evolves in the
Primera División.

Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, British and Catalan

footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a
symbol of Catalan culture and Catalan nationalism, and its
motto is therefore "Barça is more than a club" (Catalan: FC
Barcelona - More que un club). The official anthem of
Barcelona is "Cant del Barça" written by Jaume Picas and
Josep Maria Espinàs. [2] Unlike many other clubs, supporters
hold and run Barcelona. It is the second richest football club
in terms of revenue, with an annual turnover of € 450 million.
[3] FC Barcelona has a long rivalry with Real Madrid, the
matches played between the two teams being known as "El
Clásico".
