Step1.: Analysis of Load coming on column:
1. Load coming on slab & self weight.
2. Weight of beam.
3. Weight of wall.
4. Self weight of column.
•1. Load calculation for slab :-
Consider unit slab. (as in fig . ‘a’) Lx—3.5m

Aspect ratio: Lx/Ly—3.5/3.5—1 ( <2 )…(as per IS 456:2000)

Ly—
Hence it is two way as aspect ratio is < 2 3.5m

All grids given in the problem are of same size so all slabs are two way {fig . ‘a’}

Practically assume depth of slab—150mm

a.)Dead load on slab:

(assume 1m width of slab)

Density of R.C.C.—25KN/m3

Dead Load of slab—0.15x1x25—3.75 KN/m

b.) Live Load calculation’s :-
• Assume 5 KN/m2 for Public Building
• Live load—5x1---5 KN/m2
• Assume floor finish load—1.5 KN/m2—1.5x1—1.5 KN/m
• Total load—3.75+5+1.5—10.25 KN/m2
• Factored Load—15.375 KN/m2
• Total factored load per m2—15.375 KN/m2

2.) Load Analysis of Beam :-

a.) Self Weight of beam:

• Wu(self) –1.5 x rR.C.C. x b x D

(Assume size of beam—0.3 m x 0.45 m)
• Wu(self) –1.5 x 25 x 0.3 x 0.45
• Wu(self) – 5.0625 kN/m
b.) Supporting Two way Slab Load Distribution :-
• Equivalent Distribution of load on Beam :-
Wu— (qu x Lx) / 3 --- {15.375 x 3.5 } / {3} .
Wu— 17.9375 KN/m
b.) Ultimate Wall Load Calculation’s :-
(Assume Floor to Floor Height—3.5m ….(For Public Building)

• Wu(wall) -- 1.5 x rMasonry x b x H

-- 1.5 x 20 x 0.23 x 3.5
Wu(wall) – 31.5 KN/m
• Wud -- Wu(self) + Wu(slab) + Wu(wall)
-- 5.0625 + 17.9375 + 31.5
-- 54.5 KN/m …(same for all four beam’s)
• Ultimate shear force:-
Vud — Wud x L / 2
