What is a Supply Chain?

• Supply chain is comprises with the flow of


all information, products, materials, and
funds between different stages of creating
and selling a product to the end user.
SUPPLY CHAIN

• refers to the entire network of the


companies that work together to design,
produce, and deliver firm’s product to end
users.

There are three kinds of flow in supply
chain;
*Materials
*Information
*Finance
Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• SCM is the integrated planning, coordination
and control of all business processes and
activities in the supply chain to deliver superior
consumer value at least cost to the chain as a
whole, whilst satisfying requirements of other
stakeholders in a supply chain.
• Supply chain management (SCM) is the
centralized management of the flow of
goods and services and includes all
processes that transform raw materials
into final products.
Importance of SCM
• Increases competitiveness and customer
satisfaction.
• Allow firms to quickly deliver product to
the end user at a lower cost.
Supply Chain Integration
• Supply chain integration is a large-scale
business strategy that brings as many links
of the chain as possible into a closer
working relationship with each other. The
goal is to improve response time,
production time, and reduce costs and
waste
