 First point of contact between patient & hospital staff and usually on the ground floor.

• On this basis the patient is either shifted to respective
IPD(Inpatient Departments) ,to EMS OT ,ICU or
discharge
• Sub section of pathology ,radiology ,pharmacy, blood
bank are situated in EMS

• An operations theatre is where certain invasive surgical
procedures are performed
• It is most critical department in the hospital
• Space is compact and machines and equipment are
organized in a way that they are accessible without
moving much

Department of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology
• This department provides comprehensive services for the
reproductive health and gynaecological needs of women.
• This department has higher workload out of all other
departments
• OPD of this department attend large number of
patient as they have to visit multiple times before and
after the delivery
• Closely works with sonography and pediatrics
department
Nutrition department
• This department takes care of nutritional aspects
of patient
• It is important to provides nutritional food to
patient in order to recover fast

For Successful maintenance -
Make sure that :
• The maintenance and repair manuals for hospital equipment are in one location
• There is a master record of maintenance for each piece of equipment in the hospital
• There is a system of reports to show the state of each piece of equipment at the time
of each test and to initiate any further action which may be necessary
• There are routine inspections, oiling and replacement of defective parts for electrical
and mechanical systems
• Renovations are performed when required on the external and inside of the buildings
when required
• There is removal of equipment that is no longer operable or repairable
• The hospital grounds and facility clean and free of litter
