• It is one of the most famous novels of world literature, which was published in 1891 and
caused a scandal in English society. Criticism denounced it as an immoral work, yet
ordinary readers of the novel were received enthusiastically. It raises eternal questions of
humanity - about the meaning of life, about responsibility for what has been done, about
the greatness of the beauty, about the meaning of love and the destroying power of sin.
This immortal work by Oscar Wilde has been screened more than 25 times.

• Action is unfolding in England. The main character is an incredibly beautiful
young man Dorian Gray. Artist Basil once paints his portrait. Dorian in the artist
's workshop gets acquainted with Lord Henry, who immediately begins to exert
his influence on him. Looking at the finished portrait, Dorian makes an
incredible wish, which in the future will be greatly regretted. The self-loved
Dorian says aloud: If the portrait had changed, and I could always remain as it
is!

• Dorian is interested in theatre, and therefore meets there the actress in whom
she falls in love, or rather - in her skill as an actress. The girl falls in love with the
guy and loses her gift because of love. That 's when Dorian rejects her,
abandoning her and love. That 's where it starts. The girl ends up suicide. And
then a nasty wrinkle appears on Dorian 's portrait, painted by Basil, which
makes the face - vicious and tough. But on the surface, Dorian Gray remains
beautiful and innocent.

• Further, his heart is further tightened, and he starts doing things he never did. He tries everything he
can - in general, it is bad.
• His portrait ages for him and all the bad qualities are reflected in the portrait, not the names. And
all only because he once wished to be forever young and beautiful, and that the portrait would
age for him. One day, Dorian reaches his maximum.
• Besil, his buddy, finds a portrait and sees that one is just terrible. He begins to understand
everything, and therefore Dorian, afraid that he will tell
everything, simply kills his friend and therefore burns
his body so that there is no evidence.

• After reading ”The Picture of Dorian Gray», it became sad only that the book was over.
This magnificent work will especially appeal to fans of Gothic novels, but will not leave
