WORD PROCESSOR

is an electronic device or computer software


application that performs the task of composing,
editing, formatting, and printing of documents

MICROSOFT WORD
is a word processor
developed by Microsoft. It
was first released on
October 25, 1983. It is also
known as MS Word.
MAIL MERGE AND LABEL GENERATION

MAIL MERGE – create a documents and combine or merge


them with another document or data file.
- use when sending out advertising materials to various
recipients.
TWO COMPONENTS :
1. Form Document – contains the main body of the
message we want to convey or send.
1. Place holders (<< >> – the data or information will be
inserted.
2. List or Data File – contains the list of names
and addresses.

MATERIALS
Kinds of Materials
1. Pictures – These are electronic or digital pictures or
photograph you have save in any local storage device.

3 types of picture files

 .JPG – Joint Photographic Experts Group.


- Kind of data compression process that it uses to
make it more compatible and portable through the
internet.
 .GIF – Graphics Interchange Format.
- capable of displaying transparencies
- capable of displaying simple animation.
- for logos, drawings, black and white images,
or low-resolution files.

 .PNG – Portable Network Graphics.


- allows the control of the transparency level or
opacity of images.
2. Shapes – tools to use for composing and representing
ideas or messages.

3. Smart Art – Predefined sets of different shapes grouped


together to form ideas.
4. Chart – Allows you to represent data characteristics and
trends.
- useful in preparing reports that correlate and
present data in graphical manner.

Image Placement

1. In line with text – default setting for images that are


inserted in your document.
- bottom side totally aligned with the text line.

2. Square – images can be placed anywhere within the


paragraph with the text going around the image in a
square pattern like a frame.
3. Tight – Almost the same as the square setting.

4. Through – text flows even tighter, taking the contours


and shape of the image.

5. Top and Bottom – pushes the texts away vertically to the


top and/or the bottom of the image
6. Behind Text - image can be dragged and placed
anywhere on your document
- All texts floating in front of the image.
- image look like a background.

7. In front of text – Allows your image to be placed right on


top of the text
