PERIPHERALS-

Alternatively referred to as an
auxiliary device, an input device
or output device that gives a
computer additional
functionality.
INPUT DEVICE - any hardware device that sends
data to a computer, allowing you to interact with
and control it.

OUTPUT DEVICE - is any peripheral that receives


data from a computer, usually for display,
projection, or physical reproduction.

STORAGE DEVICES- is any hardware


devices capable of holding information
INPUT DEVICE - any hardware device that
sends data to a computer, allowing you to
interact with and control it.
■ Keyboard - keyboard is composed of buttons that create letters,
numbers, and symbols, as well as perform other functions.
■ Mouse - Commonly known as a pointing device, it lets you point to
objects on the screen, click on them, and move them.
■ Web Camera - captures either still pictures or motion video of a user
or another object.
■ Microphone - allows computer users to input audio
into their computers.

■ Scanner - hardware input device that optically "reads"


and image and converts it into a digital signal

■ Barcode Reader - capable of reading a barcode using


a laser.
OUTPUT DEVICE - is any peripheral that receives data
from a computer, usually for display, projection, or
physical reproduction.

 Printer - takes the electronic data stored on a computer or other


device and generates a hard copy of it.
■ Headphones - allow you to listen to audio or watch a movie without
disturbing people around you.
■ Monitor – it displays video images and text.
■ Projector – it can take images generated by a computer reproduce
them by projection onto a screen.
■ Speaker – device that generate sound when connected to a
computer.
