- It is the act of conveying meanings from one entity or group to
another through the use of mutually understood signs symbols,
and semiotic rules.

 INTRAPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
- form of communication that is
extremely private and restricted
to ourselves
-also defined as our thoughts

 INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
- form of communication takes
between two individuals also referred
as one-on-one.
 SMALL GROUP COMMUNICATION
- takes place when there are more than two
people involved
-small enough to allow each person to
interact and converse with another. (e.g. press
conference, board meetings, group meetings,
etc.)
 PUBLIC COMMUNICATION
- takes place when an individual addresses
up a large gathering of people
-usually single sender but many receivers
who are being addressed. (e.g. election
campaigns, public speeches)
 ACTIVE LISTENING SKILLS
- Be prepared to listen

- Keep an open mind

- Concentrate on the main

- Avoid distractions

- Be objective
