Song is a compotsition of tone or voice in sequence, combination, and

temporal relation to produse a musical composition that has unity and
contunity
 Social function of songs

1. To entertain the listeners

2. To tech moral value through the lyrics of the songs
3. To express personal feeling and cultural values
4. To give someone to not only shares their emotions with others, but
also to have an emotional connection that just can’t be experienced
in any other way.
 General Structure of Songs
1. Introducion (intro), is the music at the beginning of a song
2. Verses, are the lines of a song, describing the concept and theme of
the song
3. Chorus, are the lines of a song that are repeatedly song
4. Bridge, is the part of a song that has relatively different melody
from the rest of the song
5. Outro, is the additional lines of a song which brings it to close
 Language features
1. Imagery, describes about feelings and emotion
2. Rhythm, is a literary device that demonstrates the long and short patterns through
stressed and unsteressed syllables, particularly in verse form.
3. Figures of speech, is a phrase or word having different meanings than is its literal
meaning which is divided into:
a. Simile, is used to comparision between things or objects by using “as” or “like”.
Example: you are as sweet as sugar
b. Personification, is used to give human qualities to inanimate figure/objects.
Example: The wind dances with the waves
c. Hyperbole is used to exaggerate things beyond limit
Example : my mom has a diamond ring as big as a mountain
d. Metaphor, is used to compare two things without using “like” or “as”
Example: the power in my soul is a such a bull
