ORAL AND WRITTEN

LANGUAGE
 In many instances, among developing
countries of the world, legends, songs,
dances and folklore are transmitted from one
generation to another by means of word of
mouth (oral language). As such it is difficult
to remember and the essence is often
changed or lost in its transmission and
interpretation.
 Today there are linguists who are in the
barrios studying not only native languages
and their connection with other established
ones to find their linkages, differences and
similarities, but also to record the indigenous
culture of the early Filipinos, which is a part
of our cultural heritage and identity.
 The art of writing was much developed much
later, so that researchers are interested in the
early symbolic writing of the ancient world
civilization.
 Writing has become the written language of

both ancient and modern cultures of the


world.
