Evidencia 7: Taller: "Talking about Logistics, workshop"
 Packaging usually costs a lot of money, requires a large investment of time, and
requires a lot of material. The purchase costs represent approximately a third of the
total cost of the package. To this must be added twice the processing and logistics
costs. As a result of our packaging optimization we affirm: Packaging helps you save

time, money and material.

Optimize transportation. The rising cost of transportation accounts for increased

prices in virtually every industry. To reduce transportation costs, companies
should examine every factor This starts with the design of products and packaging
for optimal size and weight.
Proper load and delivery route planning ensures trucks are always carrying full loads.

Collect data from your employees. You must know which staff you can count on at any given
time. What are their hours. When are your holidays. What driving licenses each driver has.
Get to know your vehicle fleet in depth. You must know how many you have and what type. If
any are in the workshop and how long you will not have it available. If you need to use
external vehicles or you have enough. Find out the loading possibilities of each vehicle. The
capacity and volume that each truck can carry. If it is valid for dangerous goods or perishable
goods.
Finally, identify and utilize the most cost-effective packaging and shipping methods for products.

 Primary packaging It is the packaging that is in contact with the product and protects it directly. It
is very important, that this type of packaging is attractive in e-commece since it will be the one
that the customer receives. A type of primary packaging would be cardboard or plastic
containers, plastic bottles or bags that hold merchandise as in the following photo.
 Secondary packaging This type of format is intended to create a loading unit that helps to
reserve and transport the product. An example of this would be cargo boxes, for storage or
transport. Although folding boxes, corrugated cardboard, etc. are also within this level. Generally,
secondary packaging includes primary packaging as a reinforcement for protection and
containment in the handling of merchandise. But it can also be used to offer the product to the
public, or to customers, as occurs in supermarkets or department stores.

Secondary packaging
 Tertiary packaging There is another type of wrapper called tertiary that includes the
above. It is the one that groups and supports the secondary packages to avoid
damage during the handling, deposit and transport of the load. It is as simple as
imagining a large box that contains smaller packages with large quantities of
products inside, and that must be kept grouped in one place until they are sold or

transferred .

Tertiary packaging
 Complementary elements to achieve optimal packaging Once we have decided to
pack an object either in a cardboard box, a container, a postal box or another format,
we must take into account other aspects such as:
 Primary packaging: we can use adhesive tapes, industrial
stapling, stickers and glues, flanges or clamps or strap.

Package closure
 Filling and protection of packaging Using a correct security material in primary and
secondary packaging enables shipments to arrive in perfect condition to their
recipients.
