Remote Sensing DISCOVER . LEARN . EMPOWER

What is remote sensing used for?
Remote sensing is a method for getting information about of different
objects on the planet, without any physical contacts with it.

.
Remote sensing is a technology for sampling
electromagnetic radiation to acquire and read non-
immediate geospatial data from which we can
develop info more or less features and objects on
his Earths land surface, seas, and air.

3.0-5.0 For hot targets, i.e. fires and volcanoes
Thermal IR Thermal sensing, vegetation discrimination,
10.4-12.5 vegetation stress analysis, volcanic studies
Suitable for studying crop canopies and tree
2-6 cm leaves. Useful for determining Ice caps
Affords greater depth penetration measured
Microwave/ in terms of meters, can penetrate 1-2m into
Radar 15-30 cm dry material to reveal underlying bedrock
structure.
Useful for mapping total extent of ice and for
sensing tree trunks
