Biography of the Director

• Robert Zemeckis was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 14 of 1952. He is a director,


producer and screenwriter of the American cinema. He studied at the University of
southern California. He got married for the first time on July 26 of 1980 with the
actress Mary Ellen Trainor, who participated in many of his films during their
marriage, they had a child. The marriage ended in the year 2000. In 2001, he got
married with Leslei Harter, who participated in his resent films. They had two
children.
• In 1984 he achieved recognition with the film Romancing the stone , one year late, he
got universal recognition and received excellent reviews for the film Back to the
future .
• His first films were focused on special effects, action and comedy. In 1994 he directed
Forrest Gump, which he shows a different facet, and with which he won six Oscars
awards. He directed many horror movies and episodes.
• Between his most popular films which he directed and produced were Castaway,
Contact, Flight, The wax house, Thirteen Ghosts, the Polar Express, and the Walk.

• Thomas Jeffrey Hanks:
• He was born in July 9 of 1956 in California, He is an American actor and produce. He
is one of the most recognized performers of Hollywood, and many of his comedy and
drama films have been recognized internationally, and have collected more than 9
thousand million dollars.
• He has won a Golden Globe, a Screen actors guild Award, the people`s choice awards
and two Oscar awards.
• Some of his recognized films are: Splash (1984), Big (1988), Turner and Hooch (1989),
A league of their own (1992), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Philadelphia (1993), Forrest
Gump (1994), Apolo 13 (1995), Saving Private Ryan (1998), You`ve got mail (1998),
The green mile (1999), Castaway (2000) and The Da Vinci code (2006).

Robin Gayle
• Robin Gayle Wright was born in Texas on April 8 of 1966,
she is an actress who was recognized after her
performance in the series Santa Barbara in 1984 with
which she was nominated to three Daytime Emmy Awards.
• Her performances in the movies was: The princess bride
(1987), Toys (1992), Forrest Gump (1994), Message in the
bottle (1999), Unbreakable (2000) and Moneyball (2011).
Actually, she stars the House of cards series from Netflix.
Gary Alan Sinise

• He was born in Illinois on March 17 of 1955, he is an


American actor and director. Throughout his career he has
won a Golden Globe, and he has nominated to the Palme
D`or and the Oscar Awards. He was nominated as best
supporting actor in 1994 for his performance as lieutenant
Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump. He has participated in
movies and series like: Miles from Home, Forrest Gump,
Apolo 13, Reindeer Games, Snake eyes, Ransom, Mission
to mars, The Stand, The green Mile, Impostor and CSI:
New York.
Michael T. Williamson
• Michael T. Williamson was born in Saint Luis, Missouri on
4rth of March of 1957. He is an American actor better
Known for his performance as Benjamin Buford (Bubba)
Blue in the movie Forrest Gump. He played the character
of the detective Bobby ¨Fearless¨ Smith in the Boomtown
series, also as Brian Hasting in the season 8 of the 24
series, and recently as Ellstin Limehouse in Justified.
Short role description
•  Forrest Gump: Is a child with a low intelligence quotient
(less of 75), but his great personality and his task in the
life will carry him to numerous and interesting
experiences. During his life, he meets many important
personalities and he is found in famous historical events.
Short role description
• Jenny Curran: Is the childhood friend and the big love of Forrest
during his life. She was sexually abused by her father; therefore, she
lives a different life than Forrest, because is a self-destructive life
which drives her to drug addiction and others. She finally got
married with Forrest and they had a child.
• Lieutenant Dan Taylor: The Forrest`s platoon leader in Vietnam war,
all his ancestors died in a heroic way. After to lose his legs, he got
down in a depression, but after a short time, he joins to Forrest in his
fishing shrimp’s ship and they become good friends and get
successful in their business.
Short role description
• Benjamin Buford ¨Bubba¨ Blue: Is the Army´s best friend
of Forrest, he is the author of the idea of the fishing
shrimp´s ship, he died in the Vietnam war, but Gump and
Dan begins the enterprise, and all the money which
belongs to him, is given to his mother. 
• Mrs. Gump: She raise his son alone, because the Forrest´s
father leaves their. She does anything for his son…

Genre of the Film
• The genre of the film is dramatic comedy.
• Drama, because the story always keeps the public to the
expectation about what is going on to happen with Forrest
in all the situation which he is involved, and Comedy
because the film has scenes that make the public have
fun.
Visual effects
• There are different visual effects in the film. The first and the most relevant is the
animation technique by computer with which The Industrial light and magic`s team can
to insert Forrest in the archive images with historical characters already missing, where
he can shake the hand with them. To obtain it, they filmed to Tom Hanks in front of a
blue background in which they put reference guides to help the actor to coincide with
the archive images.
• The second is the lieutenant’s amputated legs, they covered his legs with a blue cloth,
this color helps to eliminate the legs sectioned frame by frame.
• The third, is in the scene where Forrest meets Jenny. The crowd was recreated with
1.500 extras in two days of filming, on every shot of the movie the people moved from
one side to a different side to complete all the space, and that’s how they recreated a
hundred of thousands of people.
