• Is a food that is wasted lost or uneaten

and occur at the stages of

Global food loss
• Global food loss amount to between one third
and one half of all food produced.
• Loss occur at all the stages of supply chain
• In low income countries most loss occurs
during production;
• While in developed countries much food
about 100 kg per person per year is wasted.

• In industrialized countries food gets lost when
production exceeds demands
