DXC Product Definition

The DXC provides a 32 x E1 cross connection node with the ability to cross
connect nx64kbps, 64Kbps, or 8Kbps granularity connections and also provide
extensive circuit protection functionality to support critical network applications.

The DXC node comprises of multiple DXC4 Interface Units that are plugged into
the DynaFlex subrack with support for redundant PIUs.

Node utilizes a distributed cross connect architecture to increase reliability.

Provides multiple timing synchronization options to allow the creation of high

availability, fault tolerant networks.

Interoperates with the Nokia DN2 & DB2LP products at an E1 and functionality
level (branching based protection).

Transports the Q1 management protocol over a given timeslot or over TS0

Cross Connect / Branching Tables
 DXC has a table driven cross connect functionality.
 The cross connect table contains information of all the cross connects in the
entire node.
 DXC supports 10 tables, with each table editable independently of others.
 A table can be activated either manually by the operator or dynamically as a
result of current operating conditions

Conditions Table
 DXC has the capability of defining
a set of dynamic “conditions”
 These operator defined conditions
can be used to:
 Activate an entry in a cross
connect table (Y-branch) Conditions Table:
 Switch the active cross connect No Port TS Bit Priority Status
table to an alternate table === ==== ==== === ======== ======

 The conditions can be derived can be defined
from:

timeslot on a particular E1
 Data bit in a given timeslot on a
