new plant or industry but also to do the improvement in the existing
business.
Dynamic in nature. Thus it is needed in every type of organization. It
differ from plant to plant, location to location and from industry to
industry.

Material-
When it is said that material influence plant layout, what
is meant is that there is a need to provide for storage and
movement of raw material until they are converted into
finished products.
The type and size of storage also affects the layout.
Worker-
The layout designer should also consider the type, position
and requirements of employees.

A layout is designed with the ultimate purpose of producing a product. Type of
product influence the layout.
Machinery-
The size and type of product, the volume of its production , the type
of process and management policy determines the size and type of
machinery to be installed which in turn , influences the plant layout.
