WEB 2.0 DESIGN PROCESS

1. Determine the Instructional objective/outcome.

2. Determine if students can use/practice/access the tool.

3. Select the tool.

4. Be sure the tool can be used technically both by you and your
students.

5. Design the lesson with the tool.

6. If possible, plan for some practice/experimenting time for

yourself and your students.
APPLY WEB 2.0 TOOLS ACTIVITY

 Review the Web 2.0 tools. Come up with an instructional

activity for an EFL classroom that supports student learning
using a Web 2.0 tool.

 Please include:
 Title of the activity
 Objective
 Education Level
 Level of Bloom’s Taxonomy
 Description of activity and use of the Web2.0 tool
 Explanation of how you would assess students’ learning
AN EXAMPLE

Title: Rocks, Rocks, Rocks

Objective: Students will differentiate between the three types of rocks, correctly
identifying each type.

Level of Education: Elementary 5th grade

Level of Bloom’s Taxonomy: remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate.

Description of activity and link to tool: Students will conduct research on the Internet
and gather information on the three types of rocks. Students will take notes and print
images to demonstrate their understanding as they apply their knowledge of rocks by
creating a poster for a presentation. After completing the poster, students will use a
digital camera to capture an image of their poster and upload it onto
VoiceThread.com. Students will record their presentation in audio format for their
classmates to view and listen to. Each student will interact by reviewing and
evaluating at least two other presentations by posting a comment or question,
followed by the author’s reply to the question. Link: http://www.voicethread.com

Explanation of assessment: The teacher’s assessment will be formative; feedback will

be provided throughout the project to guide students in achieving the objective..
