Game Of Generals

(GOG)
>The Generals, is an educational wargame invented in the Philippines.
>Invented by Sofronio H. Pasola, Jr. in 1970 which was inspired by his son Ronnie Pasola.

>He first tried it on chessboard. The pieces was also doesn’t have a particular arrangement.
There was also no spies in his experimental game.

>Making the pieces hidden was the idea of the Pasolas after
remembering card games.

>Game of Generals was introduced on public on


February 28, 1973.
The Battle Field

>Consist of 8 rows

>9 rows

>Arrange your 21 pieces in the first 3 rows (in any order)

>There should be 6 random spaces in your formation.

Object of the game
>To eliminate or captured the FLAG of your opponent.

>You may also win by


successfully maneuvering your
own flag to the opposite end of
the board.

>Flag should be at least two square of


any opposing piece in order to win.
The challenge
>A higher rank soldier eliminates from the board a lower rank soldier.

>If both soldier are of equal rank, both are eliminated.


>A spy eliminates all officer from 5 star down to sergeant.

>A flag can be eliminated by any pieces including the opponent flag.

>Only the private can eliminate the spy.


The movement

>Any player makes the first move.

>Players move alternately.

>A player is allowed to move one pieces at a


time.
>A move consist of pushing the pieces to
adjacent square, either forward, backward or
sideward.
>A diagonal move or a move more than one
square is illegal
