CYBER LAW.
Cyber law
 Cyber law is the area of law that deals with the internets
relationship to technological and electronic elements,
including computers, software, hardware and information
systems (IS).
 Simply we can say that cyber law is made for control the cyber
crime.
Objectives of the ICT act
 Act 2000 are- Granting legal recognition to all transactions
done through electronic data exchange, other means of
electronic communication or e-commerce in place of the
earlier paper based communication.
Advantage of cyber law
 Protection Against data from theft.
 Protects the computer from being hacked.
 The cyber law also addresses the important issues of security,
which are so critical to the success of electronic transactions.
 Give privacy to users.
Cyber crime
 Cyber crime is Criminal activities that specially target a
computer or network for damage or infiltration.
Different Types of cyber crime

Types of cyber crimes are:


• Hacking
• Phishing
• Email bombing and spamming
• Identity Theft and Credit Card Fraud
• Software Piracy
Use of internet in bad intention
 Everything has two effect good and bad effect. Similarly internet also
has advantages and disadvantages. Generally everyone use internet
make their work and life easer. But some of them those people are use
internet for bad intention. Example: Hacker are use internet for bad
intention. Identity theft occurs when someone steals your identity and
pretends to be you to access resources such as credit cards, bank
accounts and other benefits in your name.
ICT Present situation in Bangladesh
In last 3 years Bangladesh has seen a tremendous growth in the information
technology (ICT) sector. The impact of cyber crime is not alarming Bangladesh because
financial transactions have not yet been fully facilitated online As soon as financial
transactions are allowed online computer crimes will increase at an unprecedented
rate unless the Government acquires the tools and infrastructure to prevent, detect
and prosecute them. In Bangladesh many things are updated through ICT like e rail
ticket, bus ticket direct video conference among dc, sp and prime minister and nearly
in Bangladesh started digital toll system.
Cyber crime in Bangladesh
 Cyber and technology related crime is gradually increasing
in Bangladesh. It is a significant issue in Bangladesh. It has
already been seen that a glomming threat becomes visible in
the arena of information technology. Recently the hacking of
RAB website, ATM card skimming, Bangladesh Bank heist,
Terrorist Activities in social Medias are few examples of
them.
Cyber law in Bangladesh
 There are not enough laws in Bangladesh which may punish
the cyber criminals. In Bangladesh court there is a law named
“The Bangladesh Information & Communication Law 2006” (As
amended in 2009) . In this law section 56(1) has declared the
penalty of 10 years imprisonment with or without fine.
Bangladesh Plans for strict cyber-crime laws

 the Information and Communication Technology Act-2006


and ICT (Amendment) Act-2013 there are several clauses
against cybercrime. Which is punishable offence. Government
declare to send them jail and monetary punishment.
