FOLLOWING CATEGORY OF CASES SHOULD BE LABELED AS MEDICO-
LEGAL CASES.
 All cases of trauma
 All cases of burns and scalds
 All cases of injury due to
electricity, lightning
 All cases of poisoning including
alcohol intoxication and food
poisoning
 All cases of unconciousness
where cause of coma could not
be ascertained
 All cases relating to starvation
including hunger strike
 All cases of industrial hazards
 Cases requiring age
 All cases of sexual offences
including unnatural sexual
offences
 All suspected cases of criminal
abortion
 All unclaimed newborn
 All living cases relating to
violent asphyxia i.e. hanging,
strangulation, drowning and
suffocation etc.
 Cases of death in the
operation theatre during
operation
 All cases of deaths of
prisoners in the hospital
 Cases of death due to snake
bite or animal bite
 Cases of brought dead cases
in the hospital where the
cause of death cannot be
ascertained
 Cases of living or dead as a
result of medical negligence
