INTRODUCTION

According to the father of

Artificial Intelligence, John
McCarthy, it is “The science
and engineering of making
intelligent machines,
especially intelligent
computer programs”.

ROBOTICS
Robotics  is an  interdisciplinary  branch
of  engineering  and  science that includes
mechanical engineering , electrical
engineering ,  computer science and
others. Robotics deals with the design ,
construction , operation , and use of
robots , as well as  computer systems for
their control , sensory feedback , and
 information processing .
These technologies are used to develop
machines that can substitute for
humans.
What is a Robot ?
• A ROBOT is a mechanical or virtual
artificial agent, usually an electro-
mechanical machine that is guided by
a computer program or electronic
circuitry.
• Robots can be autonomous or semi-
autonomous. A Robot may convey a
sense of intelligence or thought of its
own.
• It can be controlled either by an
external control device or the control
may be embedded inside it.
What are Expert Systems?
The expert systems are the computer applications developed
to solve complex problems in a particular domain, at the level of
extra-ordinary human intelligence and expertise.

Characteristics of Expert Systems

 High performance
 Understandable
 Reliable
 Highly responsive

Conclusion
Finally, as the technology Improves, there will be new
ways to use robots with A.I .
AI researchers hope to develop intelligent machines,
which can perceive, learn and reason like humans.
Artificial intelligence can help reduce the difficulties
faced by man but intelligent machines can never be
human.
Its benefits and risks should be carefully weighed
before employing it for human convenience.
