CASE BACKGROUND
  Commonwealth Games were held in New Delhi in 2010 which
included huge mishandling and pilferage of cash during
preparation of the event.
 It was one of the greatest scam of all times known for corruption
and mismanagement.
The absolute estimation of this scam was assessed to be Rs.
70,000 crore.
 The main accused for the scam was Suresh Kalmadi, the
chairman of the Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games
and his associates.
A long list of corrupt contracts took place during the
preparation from CWG to overstated contracts
 Lack of compatibility in tenders, hyped prices, payments to
non existing parties, delays in conduct and execution of
WHAT contracts and misappropriate funds where the main issues
of the scam.
AND Suresh Kalmadi came into a contract with approximately
WHY IT Rs. 141 crores with Swiss Timing for the timing equipment
and it was later discovered that the deal was high by
HAPPEN approximately Rs. 95 crores.

domain of the meaning of 'state'

fields.
Problem of infrastructure and functionality of equipment- poor
infrastructure, pool was filled with debris.
Withdrawals- various players back out from games because of
poor facilities.

PEOPLE
The main person behind the scam was Suresh Kalmadi, being main accused, The
Chairman of Organizing Committee of the Commonwealth Games.
The Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit was also charged in various number of
evidence of frauds and irregularities in process of the event.
Other main politician behind the scam was Robert Vadra.
There is huge list of people including Politicians, Bureaucrats, and Businessmen,
other than from these people various big corporations were also involved in this
scam.
CONCLUSION
After three years of commonwealth games the scam hit organizing
committee is contesting two dozens legal cases including revenue of
rupees 350 crores.
The case is filed in various courts were related to dispute in finance,
workplace, merchandising and other functional areas.
Investigation suggested Organizing Committee as Badmash Company.
The accused had a corrupt deal of rupees 141 crore and his closest
aids were also involved in the same.
