Cloud Computing
• Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—including servers,
storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence—over
the Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and
economies of scale.
• You typically pay only for cloud services you use, helping you lower your
operating costs, run your infrastructure more efficiently, and scale as your
business needs change.
• Benefits of Cloud Computing :
- Cost - Speed
- Global scale - Productivity
- Performance - Security
- Reliabilty
• Types of Cloud Computing
- Public Cloud
- Private Cloud
- Hybrid Cloud

Cyber Security
• Cyber security refers to the body of technologies, processes, and
practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from
attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
• Cyber security may also be referred to as information technology security.
• Types of Cyber Security threats :
- Malware
- Ransomware
- Social Engineering
- Phishing
• Why is cybersecurity important?
In today’s connected world, everyone benefits from advanced cyberdefense
programs. At an individual level, a cybersecurity attack can result in
everything from identity theft, to extortion attempts, to the loss of important
data like family photos. Everyone relies on critical infrastructure like power
plants, hospitals, and financial service companies. Securing these and other
organizations is essential to keeping our society functioning.

3D Printing
• 3D object is created by depositing materials layer-by-layer.
• This contrasts with conventional subtractive manufacturing which
removes material to create a certain object.
• Examples of conventional subtractive methods include milling, turning,
drilling and computer numerical control (CNC) machining.
• Benefits of 3D Printing :
- True Rapid Prototyping
- Rapid Design Iteration (A/B testing of physical products)
- Low volume production
- Mass Customization
- Virtual Inventory
- Product Innovation

System Integration
• System Integration is a process commonly implemented in the fields of
engineering and information technology.
• It involves the combination of various computing systems and software
packages in order to create a larger system, and this is what drives
Industry 4.0 to work at its optimum.
• System Integration increases value to a system by creating new
functionalities through the combination of sub-systems and software
applications.
• Examples of System Integration include the automation of home
appliances and electrical systems.

Augmented Reality
• Information Age said, "It’s about creating a connection and end-to-end
experience between the customer and the product; an experience from
design to manufacture to delivery."

Big Data and Data analytics
• Data analytics, once an IT application is now penetrating into
manufacturing and supply chain industry. Power of data analytics and
pattern recognition can be harnessed in the manufacturing industry to
reduce downtime and wastages.
• Data can be collected at different levels of manufacturing process. If a
PCB or a batch of PCBs is found to be faulty, their manufacturing data
can then be retrieved and comprehensively evaluated to arrive at a
pattern. Process involving those patterns can be redesigned and re-
evaluated to reduce wastage and increase productivity.
• Predictive maintenance can be carried out based on the data collected.
This is cost-efficient and safer than the conventional routine
maintenance method.

Simulation
• Simulation in industries is related to virtually reproducing
environments and processes that happen inside the factories. In
this way, it is possible to bring the physical world closer to the virtual
world to analyze data, monitor results, and improve any processes that
may fail.
• All of it happens without causing problems to the production goals, nor
causing waste in industries, after all everything happens within computer
systems.
• In many cases, when making important business decisions, industry
managers end up delaying or even cancelling projects because of lack of
understanding about the required investments, the proposed
optimizations, or the financial return that has been calculated.

industrial Internet of Things
• The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) refers to interconnected
sensors, instruments, and other devices networked together with
computers' industrial applications, including manufacturing and energy
management. This connectivity allows for data collection, exchange, and
analysis, potentially facilitating improvements in productivity and
efficiency as well as other economic benefits.
• The IIoT is an evolution of a distributed control system (DCS) that allows
for a higher degree of automation by using cloud computing to refine
and optimize the process controls.
